The customer requested all new bushes, bearings and seals, along with a new crankshaft.           Simple solution for anyone with a Sledge Hammer 333 wanting to fit the BGM/MB manifold rubber. These are a good manifold rubber but are designed for M8 screws, so using an M6 screw through the 8mm hole isn’t ideal, something I’ve seen done many times with these manifolds. The simple solution we came up with is the use of a Piaggio stepped screw. It has an 8mm shank to properly centre and fill the 8mm hole, then steps down to an M6 thread. They’re available in both Phillips and Torx head options. Simple fix, proper fit. 👍🔧 #bgm #scootercenter #lambretta #2stroke

          A simple solution that makes a big improvement. We’ve been doing this for years to prevent oil blow-by. The last thing you want on a full new build or a fresh engine is oil from the exhaust covering everything. A sleeve is machined for the exhaust stub, TIG welded, sealing face skimmed, and it’s good to go — most commonly carried out on PM exhausts for autos. This was also the reason that we make sure all the exhausts we make have 2 x viton o-rings Small detail. Big difference. #2stroke #scooter #gilera #lambretta #piaggio #exhaust #fabrication

          Steve’s Airmax-themed SST265 Lambretta! With a fantastic paint job that deserves a mention - credit to the painter 💪🏻 Aswell as setting this engine up on our dyno after a torque exhaust had been fitted, we was told the front brake needed attention also. The brake setup this had fitted prior was poor and inefficient and with an engine with this sort of power it’s the last thing you need, so we replaced the previous front brake master cylinder with a casa performance one that now has a nice feel and works well! #sst265 #casaperformance #wilkinsonracing #lambretta #dynojet

          WR179 31HP+ Engine Build ☑️ This Gilera came to us in rough shape after previous work by other companies, needing a full engine rebuild. Full Strip Down: We began by reworking the engine cases, followed by vapour blasting to restore their condition. Cylinder Rework: The cylinder porting was reworked, then recovered using one of our 55mm head kits. This gave us the option to machine the cylinder, lowering the timings to achieve the necessary performance. Pressure Test: As standard, we conducted a pressure test before disassembly—and this one revealed significant leaks. The damaged inlet sealing face wouldn’t seal, so we machined it and fitted one of our KX85 inlet kits. Engine Mount Rebuild: With the Gileras aging, engine mount rods ,bushes and the silent block often need replacing. We make these rods from stainless steel to ensure lasting durability.           Darren’s WR172 - Completed ✅ We’ve just finished building and tuning a new engine for Darren’s WR172, now running an Lpower Smart Exhaust delivering 28-29hp, as requested—slightly tamed down from the 35+hp we previously built for his other scoot. The bike also received a suspension upgrade with Malossi F37R forks and brake discs, along with Ottopuntouno 8.1 billet calipers, improving both handling and stopping power. Along with these upgrades, we’ve also sorted out a number of other issues, as this bike wasn’t built from the ground up by us.           5 race engines, top 5...

          We haven’t been posting much lately, but we’ve been seriously busy working on some great projects! We’ll do our best to keep the posts coming going forward. One of the top-spec builds we’ve been working on for Ben. After seeing the full restoration and tuned engine we did for his mate, he was soon convinced it was time to start his own build. When the bike arrived, it was in pretty rough shape. It needed extensive frame repairs before we could even get started. After sorting out all the affected areas, we sent everything off to LSN Coatings for powder coating. Next up was the engine: we built a WR183 street motor making 32hp, and it’s proven to be ultra-reliable. But Ben was keen for more power. After another visit, we fitted a Wilkinson Racing exhaust and upgraded to a slightly bigger carb. The result? 35.5hp—still ultra-reliable, just with that extra kick! Another happy customer who puts the bike through its paces and tests our workmanship! #gilera #gilerarunner #gilerahittaz #wilkinsonracing
